Welcome to Tosa

Proudly veteran-owned and operated, we’re all about serving you top-notch coffee, which we roast right here in-house. Pair that with our freshly baked pastries and a wide selection of New York-style bagels, and you’ve got the perfect place to fuel your day.

So, why “Tosa”?
Meet Hiroki, our beloved mascot, pictured here on the left. He’s a Tosa Inu, also known as a Japanese Mastiff—an ancient breed that has a rich history with the Samurai. Hiroki holds a special place in our hearts, as he’s one of the few purebred Tosa Inus in the United States. Eric, the owner, was stationed in Japan for nearly three years during his Army service and was lucky enough to bring Hiroki home with him. These dogs, once loyal companions to the Samurai on the battlefield, continue to be revered today.

With an aviation-inspired theme throughout the shop, our logo features Hiroki rocking an old pilot’s cap! Eric, who served 21 years in the Army (though he wasn’t a pilot in uniform), is now a corporate pilot. You’ll often spot him soaring above Richmond Hill as he goes about his flying adventures.

We’re thrilled to have you here at Tosa Coffee Company—whether you’re a coffee lover, pastry aficionado, or aviation fan, we’ve got something for everyone!
